Per the USGS Water Data site, the current level of the Red River of the North at Fargo is 38.61 feet (10:15 PM). In addition to that, the Forum reports that the Red River could reach a second crest of 37 feet in mid-April. People need to remember that a lot of snow still needs [...]

Flood Update
Posted in flood on March 29, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
As of 8:15 Fargo-Moorhead time this evening the Red River water level was at 39.71 feet. Hopefully it will drop some more before the bulk of the pending storm hits. 1-3 inches of snow is expected tomorrow and another 2-4 tomorrow night. There is still a chance of snow Wednesday. Things could get interesting next [...]
The Mall

I rarely head to the mall, but I needed to purchase some new clothes, mainly for work, so I decided to go to Valley Fair as soon as they opened today. I got some shirts, some socks, and then headed to Macy’s to get some pants. After rifling through their selection I finally found my [...]
Setting Me Up

Last Tuesday a friend of mine from up Sacramento way decided to try to set me up with a friend of hers. It started out simple enough with a text:
I want you to meet a friend of mine. She’s around your age and sweet. I will call later tomorrow to set a date.
And so it [...]

Up until a week ago I had been a Rhapsody-To-Go subscriber. I think I started that subscription in the summer of 2005 when I finally bought my first MP3 player (a Dell Pocket DJ). Up to that point I just had a regular Rhapsody subscription (since fall 2003).
For the most part I was happy with [...]
The Red River of the North Flood

I usually write about things of a more lighthearted nature, but today I would like to write about something that hits home: the current flooding of the Red River Valley, specifically Fargo-Moorhead.
I haven’t talked much about where I’m from, but just so you know, I grew up in Moorhead, MN. I visit my family there [...]

Sorry for the lack of posts lately – my mind has been elsewhere. I’m going to add a new feature to The Blue Can called ‘State of the Blog.’ Maybe once or twice per month I will update you on my plans for this blog and why my posting has become more or less frequent.
I [...]
MLB2K9: Second Look

I finally got the sliders where I want them for my juiced up version of the Minnesota Twins. I’m fresh off a 30-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles as a result
MLB2K9 First Look

To get my mind of that horrible text message I received last night, I decided to fire up some MLB2K9 on the ol PS3.
I’ve started off by customizing some of the sliders, so hitting is much, much easier. Even so, I’m not completely destroying the opposition like in the past. I have yet to manage [...]
WTF?!?

Apologies for the language here, but I had sent a text message to this girl I had been seeing, well, not sure if you can call it “seeing,” but we got along very well. There were no issues, or so I thought. We enjoyed getting drinks together, and even went above and beyond that. As [...]
