Try watching the early Sunday football game on Fox.

When the 49ers are playing in the Midwest or on the East Coast, they will be shown on Fox, which is understandable.  However, if the 49ers are playing at home (the afternoon game) or aren’t playing at all (as is the case today), you’re extremely lucky to see any game on Fox.

Today we get the pregame show from 9-10 and the Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.  Seriously.  Nothing against Fox News, but this is why the Fox News cable channel exists (along with other news cable channels) – to keep it off the big network channels to free up time for sports!  Is there some kind of rule or regulation that prevents Fox from showing the early game when the 49ers aren’t playing?  Check out today’s lineup:

11 AM – 12 PM: American Idol Rewind

12-12:30: High School Football

Meanwhile, CBS is playing the Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati game in the morning.  They aren’t playing anything in the afternoon, probably due to the Oakland Raiders being blacked out.

Sucks.  At least at 4 I can watch the University of Minnesota hockey game live.

She is at it again!

On the ground floor of this crappy apartment building lives a woman in her late 40s/early 50s.  Information from a prior incident with this idiot tells me that she does in fact have offspring, so at the very least we can conclude that she probably was with a man at some point.  Well, maybe she adopted, but odds are she did share a bed with an actual man.  I can clearly see why said man is no longer with her.  In fact, he probably wants absolutely nothing to do with her.  I’ve never seen her son/daughter visit her, either.

Back to the meat of the story…

As you know from prior postings, this dolt does not follow the rules when it comes to the laundry room.

Rule #1

Laundry room must be locked when unoccupied.

In all of my time here, I have witnessed her use said laundry room and never lock it.  This morning I was planning on doing some laundry and noticed one of the washing machines in use.  There was her basket (after a time you get to know which basket belongs to whom).  The door, of course, was not locked.

Rule #2

Operating hours are 9 AM – 1o PM

I went into the room at 9 AM and her stuff was already being washed.  On several occasions I have seen her use the room at 7 AM.

I have mentioned all of the other ‘unofficial’ rules she violates as well.  Oh, she also was notorious for parking her car by the dumpster, despite the fact that she has a carport which she shares with no one.  After a couple of emails from management (someone else was doing this, too), this practice stopped.

It’s kind of like the TV series Lost or the iPod – I feel like I’m the last person on earth to get one – the Apple iPhone. Yesterday I picked up the 16 gb 3GS version of the iPhone from the AT&T store in Palo Alto.  I know I have only had it for a day, but so far I love this thing.  It’s very easy to use and awesome if you need something to do to kill time.

I’m one of those people who will pretend to be doing something on my phone if I’m in a situation where I just don’t want to be hassled or deal with other people.  Well, with this I won’t have to pretend!  I can actually be doing something on my phone!  All you haters of this thing can suck it.

I suggest that you read this from Tankbooks.com.  It is an interview with John Hawk of the 90th Infantry Division, who received the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions in the summer of 1944 at Chambois, France.  This was part of the infamous Falaise Gap.  He literally became an aiming stake for tank destroyers as they eliminated three German King Tiger tanks.  Oh, and he was wounded while he did this.

FYI – History International Channel is showing Patton 360 this week.  One of the episodes talks about Hawk’s actions at Chambois as he was a part of General George S. Patton, Jr’s Third Army.

A reader of this website alerted me to the Food Network Humor site a few weeks back.  Hilarious.

Admittedly, I watched this channel with some regularity back in the day.  Now I might take a peek at a few episodes of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, but that’s about it.  Most of the cooking on that channel = nonsense.  For example, take a look at this cooking with kids crap.

For the record – I have actually had those “porcupine balls.”  I think they were referred to as porcupine meat balls.  Whatever they’re called, they taste awful.  My mom is a fantastic cook, but those were terrible. Everything discussed in that blog post shows just how out of touch some at the Food Network are when it comes to cooking with kids.  Hell, they’re out of touch period.

Sadly, this is the kind of propaganda that has spilled over into the work place.  Many of my co-workers think that if a recipe is featured on Food Network and has all sorts of fancy ingredients, well, it MUST be good!  Whatev (as a friend of mine would say).  More often than not it’s awful.

I’m gonna go make some eggs, sausage, and toast.

I gave it a trial run last night and it definitely will get you.  There are times where you go a few minutes without a drink, but there are also times when you just go at it constantly.  During the first segment of episode one I went through 3/4 of a beer.  By the end of that episode I was half done with beer #4.  It just kept going from there…

What caused the most drinks?  Cussing and the mentioning of greenhorn seemed to really be prevalent last night.  Segments with cussing usually didn’t stop with one bleep; it typically followed up with 5-6 more in quick succession.

I think in the near future I will modify the rules as there are definitely too many.  Also, shots have been replaced with four drinks.  I thought better of the shot rules and figured that sticking to one type of drink would be much easier on the logistics.

I was pondering a post about how the Yankees + $208 million = 2009 World Series, but I’m tired of thinking about that bought and paid for All-Star team.  Paying that much doesn’t automatically guarantee a championship, but it does put you in a great position to win one year in and year out.  Salary cap/salary minimum time!

Okay, next up is the SP situation.  Remember how I said I was hoping to let it just die on the vine?  It appears that it has.  If I make it to this Sunday, it will have been two full weeks since I’ve heard from her.  That will easily be the longest time we have gone without a single text since I met her.  So once Sunday hits, I will officially close the book on that situation.
