The Twilight Saga: New Moon is currently the number one movie.

It is also getting ripped to shreds on IMDB – almost 25,000 votes and only a 4.5 average.  Ouch!  Even Starship Troopers 3 received a 4.6, albeit with just under 8,000 votes, but still, ouch!

And that’s all I can say about that…

In other news, here is some banter that I heard between Jay Mohr and Ray Liotta on The Opie & Anthony Show (not sure of the exact airdate, but it was on The Worst Of dated November 24, 2009).  They had just been talking about how little Ray has actually seen his own movies, including the almighty Goodfellas, which he said he had only seen maybe three times:

Jay Mohr: It’s a perfect film, Ray.  You realize you’re in an actual perfect film. You’re in an actual put it in a time capsule…it’s perfection.

Ray Liotta: Yeah, maybe I should see it.

Made me crack up.

• The Punisher (Extended Cut) – Unfortunately this version isn’t available in Blu-ray.  You get the full story behind who gave Frank up to Howard Saint, ultimately leading to the death of his entire extended family.  Not really necessary, but fun to watch.
• The Postman – Things are gettin’ better!  I have seen this movie more than any other movie I don’t actually own.
• Euro Trip - Trust me when I say it is better than Road Trip.
• Fletch - I saw Caddyshack last night, which brought me back to a time when Chevy Chase actually had some good movies.  Fletch is one of them (the Vacation series being the others).
• Payback - Perhaps Mel Gibson’s best work.
• Super Troopers - One of my top ten all-time favorites.
• The Crow - It can’t rain all the time.
• Tommy Boy - No, it’s gotta be your bull!

I’m not one of those people who can just sit down and watch any football game.  Detroit vs Green Bay – nope.  Playing as I write this and I just don’t care.  Oakland vs Dallas – nope.  That would be a boring game to watch regardless.  New York Giants vs Denver – maybe.  Both times have just dropped like rocks of late.  I still remember a few weeks back reading something about how the Giants were for real and the Vikings weren’t on the same level.  Heh.  As for Denver, well, Kyle Orton, ’nuff said.  Dude can’t throw the ball more than 20 yards.  Ol noodle arm.

What I will watch is the Nebraska-Colorado game tomorrow.  The Huskers already wrapped up the Big 12 North and have a date with Texas in the Big 12 Championship game.  However, a win over hated Colorado would be a nice finish to the regular season.  Plus it can only help with regards to the bowl game they will eventually play in.

In other news…

Doing laundry right now and of course the door was unlocked.  Whomever used it last left the door unlocked all night.  Nice.  A bunch of retards live around here.

As a Comcast customer, I had a free subscription to McAfee.  I had avoided installing it for several years due to a poor past experience with their product.  I’m sure many of you have used it, and have noticed how it pretty much takes over your entire system.  You can’t do anything with the speed you once did after you install McAfee.  Your computer takes forever and a day to load, you get constant warnings about certain things even after supposedly disabling them, and it even hurts download speeds.

No more.  I just uninstalled it.

Back to Avast  I guess.  I had that before and it worked great for awhile, and then decided to have some conflicts with Firefox.

In hindsight, I am now of the opinion that it wasn’t all that bad to leave SP hanging. And in light of the fact that she never did contact me once since I last saw her (three weeks now) I think that she knew herself that things were over/weren’t going to work.

SP and I went out on several dates.  She spent two nights at my place.  If you recall, the first time she spent the night she denied me “access.”  It wasn’t a huge deal, and you can’t blame me for trying.  After all, four dates in and she asked to spend the night, what guy wouldn’t assume that she was ready for that?  I don’t think I was going out on a limb at all.

A few dates later I was again denied access.  This time I was truly baffled; she was openly doing things that naturally would lead to “the next step.”  She never offered an explanation of why the denial.  And that is why I don’t feel all that bad for letting it die on the vine.  After rejecting me like that twice, she could have at least told me where things stood.

It’s all good.  I really don’t think I can date a) a vegetarian or b) someone who can call it a night (on a Friday/Saturday) after one drink.

Just when you think it can’t get any lower, it does.

On Friday night, the Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team had a 2-0 lead over Minnesota-Duluth at home.  They couldn’t hold on and ended up losing 4-3 in overtime.

Last night they held another 2-0 lead and were playing even better getting there.  Once again they lost, this time 3-2.

For some reason, the Gophers could not play with the lead.  They did play some inspired hockey after having the lead, but only for brief stretches here and there.  They didn’t generate as many shots or chances in the second half of each game.

It’s sad, because while Minnesota-Duluth has a few high powered forwards, for the most part they aren’t an impressive team.  It’s certainly nothing like playing North Dakota or Denver; they were a team that should have been very beatable.  But this Gopher hockey team is lacking something.

The first half of the season can still somewhat be salvaged with some wins over the remaining few games.  In the second half, Cepis will join the squad and Leddy should be back.  The team will definitely be better, but will it be good enough?

Unless those two guys somehow completely change the dynamic of this team the answer is no.

Right now this team doesn’t know how to play a complete 60-minute game.  With the lineup they have, there is no margin for error and they simply must play hard the entire game.  The talent is there; you can see it in at least three of the four lines.  Just watch how “lesser” Gopher lines control the puck when they are playing well; they’re usually better than their opponents.  But for whatever reason, it comes and goes.  An ill-timed penalty for something stupid usually results in a goal that they just cannot and do not recover from and that’s the end.

I first went out with MW a week ago.  After a long day attending a class in San Francisco, she wanted to meet up, so I agreed, and we had drinks, or rather I had drinks, and we had dinner.  It was a pleasant evening, if I may use that term.

I never got a good look for her, except her chest region, because she decided to expose the ol cleavage.  A nice effort on her part.

I decided that I wanted to see her again, so we made plans for a second date, which was last night.  Dinner, drinks, and a movie.

Again, I was the only one who had a drink (two large beers).

I was immediately uncomfortable.  She kept staring at me in a somewhat creepy way.  While she would do it she would smile in a creepy way as well.  I drank my beers fast in an effort to get comfortable.  I didn’t work.

Then she was immediately on a first name basis with our server, Sara.  I don’t know why that made me feel weird, it just did.  I’ve never been out with someone who actually kept using the server’s name.

When the dinner and drinks were over, we had some time to kill before seeing the movie, so we played air hockey.  The three game series was lopsided, with me winning 7-2, 7-3, and 7-2.  During this time she got a little warm, so she took off her coat.  Now this was the first time I had seen her in this fashion and saw the arms: big.  While we were walking I also got a look at the backside: big.

Everything was big.  I began to question my judgment.  Was I not paying close attention last week?  I guess not.  My only hope at this point was that the movie was good enough to provide a nice distraction where I could just lose myself in it.  Thankfully, it did.  I will write about Pirate Radio later, but I will see this now – you MUST see this movie.
